Since Honor, the sub-brand of Chinese tech giant Huawei, introduced the V20 with a 48-megapixel rear camera sensor in December last year, there have a slew of phone launches that include a 48-megapixel primary camera sensor at the back, whether it is a part of a triple camera setup or a dual camera setup. Over the last three months, some of these phones have managed to make their way to India. The first phone to hit the stores in the country with a 48-megapixel camera was the Honor View 20 – the global variant of the Honor V20. It was followed by the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Vivo V15 Pro, Oppo F11 Pro, and even the Oppo F11, all of which include a 48-megapixel camera sensor.

Honor View 20
The Honor View 20 ₹ 37,999 was the first smartphone to launch in India with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor along with a time of flight (ToF) sensor at the back. The phone was originally introduced in China as Honor V20 and later debuted internationally as Honor View 20. It also comes with display hole for selfie camera design that houses a 25-megapixel camera sensor along with an f/2.0 fixed focus lens. The smartphone is powered by Huawei’s flagship-grade HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC that is coupled with up to 8GB of RAM. Additionally, the Honor View 20 sports an Aurora Nanotexture pattern at the back that forms a V-shaped design when light reflects on the surface.
